BrawBand – the new consumer brand of local company HighNet, have today announced an agreement that will bring reliable, Gigabit speed broadband services to homes in Inverness by joining CityFibre’s rapidly expanding national openaccess networks.
When announced in 2019 that Inverness would become a Gigabit city, the opportunity to create BrawBand became an exciting reality. For a local company with years of experience in delivering best in class connectivity solutions for business, the opportunity to drive transformational digital change to homes across the city was the next logical step. Inverness will be the first location to enjoy access to BrawBand’s competitively priced 1Gbps services, with the first homes expected to go live in January 2021. The city will see around three thousand homes enabled to receive the service in January, and as CityFibre build out more network throughout 2021, BrawBand will be available to thousands more.
Connectivity is now more than ever a central part of people’s everyday lives, and the service will bring with it some major benefits for homes throughout Inverness. Customers can expect a far superior online experience and enjoy simultaneously streaming TV to multiple devices without buffering and seamlessly take part in online gaming or internet browsing. And the benefits go beyond this. With more people working from home and companies promoting an agile workforce, the service will transform digital capabilities and make the home office a far more reliable, safe, and productive environment.
What can the local people of Inverness expect from BrawBand? Customers can be sure that they will be in the hands of a reliable provider with a brand that remains true to the HighNet Best in Class, Plain Sailing values. And what better way to encapsulate all things great than the Scottish word ‘braw.’ Full-fibre is totally future-proof, much more reliable than copper, ten times faster than other ‘superfast’ broadband, and here it is delivered by a local Internet Service Provider. What could be more braw than that?
Speaking of the launch of BrawBand in Inverness, David Alldritt, Technology and Innovation Director at BrawBand commented. “Full fibre is set to be the backbone of the UK’s connectivity for years to come, so we’re excited to be able to offer a marketleading Gigabit speed service to thousands of new broadband customers over CityFibre’s network. More urgently, Inverness needs a broadband provider that offers a reliable and customer-first approach, and that’s what we’ve been delivering for businesses across the UK for two and a half decades now. We’re eager to show what we can do for residential customers in Inverness and look forward to further expansion next year.”
Speaking of the agreement, Allan McEwan, City Manager at CityFibre, said: “We are pleased to welcome BrawBand onto our Inverness network, and greatly look forward to supporting their exciting Gigabit-speed home broadband service. We’re delighted HighNet have chosen Inverness as the first city to launch their new consumer product, their reputation locally and quality services make them a perfect partner and we are excited about helping even more homes and businesses take advantage of the huge benefits that Full Fibre has to offer.”
